Sonic Drive In
Sonic Drive-In is a chain of over 3300 drive in type restaurants like the ones that were popular in the 50's and 60's. They use bellhops that serve the orders...sometimes on roller skates. The first one opened in Oklahoma in 1953. It was called the TOP HAT and was a root beer stand. The owner than expanded using speakers and car hops and a star was born. They changed the name to Sonic with a slogan "service at the speed of sound."
