Waffle House
Waffle house was started in 1955 by Joe Rogers, Sr. and Tom Forkner, who still own the majority of the company. The first one opened in 1955 in Georgia and since grown to over 1200 restaurants in the south. Now a true southern icon a lot of travelers from the north know that they are in the south when they see the first Waffle House along the interstate. It was one of the rare restaurants that stay open on Christmas to serve hungry travelers
